Victor Straatman is a general partner at 4impact capital in The Hague, where he backs early-stage European technology that solves global challenges, seed to Series A, from the €68M Fund II. He led 4impact’s recent rounds in OurMind and Regulate and its first investment in Lucend. Before investing he spent twenty years building companies: Redkiwi, the Rotterdam digital agency he co-founded in 2004; Meatme, a regenerative-meat platform in Vancouver; and Verble, an AI speechwriting assistant. He holds an MSc in civil engineering from TU Delft and was born in Groningen.
Victor Straatman is a general partner at 4impact capital, the impact venture fund in The Hague that invests seed to Series A in European digital technology addressing global challenges, with first tickets of €250k to €2.5M from its €68M Fund II. He joined 4impact in 2021 as entrepreneur in residence and became a partner in January 2024. He led the fund’s €2.1M Series A in OurMind, which takes administrative work off hospital doctors, its €1.4M seed round in Regulate, a science-backed breathwork platform for the workplace, and its first investment in Coolgradient, now Lucend, which cuts the energy data centres spend on cooling.
Before investing, Victor built companies for twenty years. In 2004 he co-founded Redkiwi in Rotterdam with Jasper Verbunt and bootstrapped it into a 50-person digital agency, recognised by the FD Gazellen and the Deloitte Technology Fast 50; he remains a shareholder. In Vancouver, from 2015 to 2019, he co-founded Meatme, connecting people with regenerative farmers, and mentored founders at Launch Academy, Futurpreneur Canada, e@UBC and RADIUS SFU. Back in the Netherlands he worked at BrandLoyalty as business director and business development manager EMEA, and in 2023 co-founded Verble, an AI speechwriting assistant used in more than 100 countries. He has been a guest lecturer in entrepreneurship at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Victor holds an MSc in civil engineering from Delft University of Technology, was born in Groningen, and lives in The Hague with his wife, the textile artist Manon Garritsen, and their two sons.
What I do at 4impact capital4impact.vc ↗
At 4impact we back early-stage European tech that solves global challenges: seed to Series A, first tickets of €250k to €2.5M from our €68M Fund II, across the Benelux, DACH and the Nordics. I look for founders who want impact for people and planet as much as a business that scales, and who see no conflict between the two. Everything about the fund, the portfolio and how to pitch lives on 4impact’s own site.
